The Jefferson Awards honors ordinary people who do extraordinary things for others. Initiated in 1972 by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and Senator Robert Taft, Jr., this “Nobel Prize” for public service is a unique local and nationwide effort that recognizes the highest ideals and achievements of volunteerism in the United States.

It is exciting to note that more national Jefferson Award winners have come from Washington than from any other state! Learn about our community response to the strongest national call to service we have seen in over a generation, and join us to celebrate our award winners.
